Course Info

This course is designed to provide generalized knowledge and the basic competencies of intravenous therapy including central lines, initiating and discontinuing as well as calculating, operating and troubleshooting mechanical infusion devices. These are but a few of the objectives covered in this course.

This course meets the Florida State Board of Nursing guidelines and up to 40  C.E.  hours may be earned by nurses.  (Approved by the Florida Board of Nursing Provider No. NCE-2251).  This class is for Licensed RNs, LPNs, GPNs, and other health professionals.

Part-time courses are available to individuals at least 16 years of age who need technical training for new employment or for upgrading current job skills. Many courses are specifically for those already employed in a particular occupation; prior experience may be required. Students enrolled in another Hillsborough County school are eligible to enroll in classes provided they pay tuition.

Days are coded as follows in this schedule:

  • Monday - M
  • Tuesday - T
  • Wednesday - W
  • Thursday - R
  • Friday - F

    When a class is listed as M,W this means that the class meets on both Monday AND Wednesday nights each week until the final date of the class.

    Students may register one of two ways: by registering online (see above link) or by registering in person in the Main Office (Monday through Thursday 1:00- 8:00PM), located in Erwin's main building. Classes are filled on a space available basis.

    Payment of tuition is made at the time of registration unless otherwise noted. Cash, checks, and credit cards are accepted for tuition and books. All advertised prices for books/supplies do not include taxes and are subject to change. Books are only available for purchase on the first night of class.

    Financial Aid and Veterans Benefits are only available for Full-Time/Job Preparatory Programs.
