Welding - Gas, Arc, MIG, TIG (Part-Time)
Please note: Welding certification is NOT available through this course.
This course is designed for students who wish to learn basic or advanced welding methods. There is minimal classroom work. Most of the time is utilized in hands-on training to develop the required manipulative skills.
Students are required to furnish their own personal welding equipment (welding helmet, gloves, chipping hammer, hand wire brush and wire cutters).Part-time courses are available to individuals at least 16 years of age who need technical training for upgrading current job skills. Many courses are specifically for those already employed in a particular occupation; prior experience may be required. Students enrolled in another Hillsborough County school are eligible to enroll in classes provided they pay tuition.
Days are coded as follows in this schedule:
Monday - M
Tuesday - T
Wednesday - W
Thursday - R
Friday - F
When a class is listed as M,W this means that the class meets on both Monday AND Wednesday nights each week until the final date of the class.
Students may register one of two ways: by registering online or by registering in person in the Student Services Office, Room 158, located in Erwin's main building. Classes are filled on a space available basis.
On-site registration takes place Mondays through Thursdays between 8 am and 7 pm; Fridays from 8am to 3pm.
Payment of tuition is made at the time of registration unless otherwise noted. Cash, checks, and credit cards are accepted for tuition and books. All advertised prices for books/supplies do not include taxes and are subject to change. Books are only available for purchase on the first night of class.
Financial Aid and Veterans Benefits are only available for Full-Time/Job Preparatory Programs.
