Program Description
This program prepares students for employment at the entry level as Computer Technicians, Network Technicians, and Network Administrators. Students are prepared to take the A+ Computer Repair Certification, Network+ Certification, the three Microsoft Network Administrator Certification exams on the Windows 2003 or Server track leading to the Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA), MCITP: Server 2008, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) and the Certified Wireless Network Administrator (CWNA) exam.
To customize the training and make it most relevant to each students' goals, students entering the advanced level choose one of three areas of concentration: Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator, MCITP Server Administrator, or Cisco Certified Network Associate.
The CompTIA A+ and Network+ exams are vendor-neutral certifications covering all of the major operating systems and networking equipment found in most networks used by industry.
The MCSA certification provides a valid and reliable measure of technical proficiency and expertise to successfully manage and maintain the typically complex computing environment of medium-to-large-sized companies. MCSA candidates should have the equivalent of 6-12 months of experience administering client and network operating systems on completion of this program.
