Basic X-Ray (Exam Preparation) (Part-Time)

Please note: This class is NOT an X-Ray Technician program.
The program is designed for individuals who wish to learn and be licensed to operate basic x-ray equipment. Passing the state certification test does not necessarily guarantee employment.
This class teaches the skills required to operate small x-ray machinery frequently found in doctors' offices or in small hospitals (150 beds or fewer).
This class prepares students for the State of Florida Certification Test for Basic Radiology Machine Operator. Students may apply to take the state test after beginning the class. The state testing is an additional cost to students and is not offered at Erwin.
Textbooks are available at Erwin on the first night of class.
High School Diploma or GED is required for state certification.
There is a $20 charge for a monitoring badge that is included in the tuition.
Part-time courses are available to individuals at least 16 years of age who need technical training for new employment or for upgrading current job skills. Many courses are specifically for those already employed in a particular occupation; prior experience may be required. Students enrolled in another Hillsborough County school are eligible to enroll in classes provided they pay tuition.

When a class is listed as M,W this means that the class meets on both Monday AND Wednesday nights each week until the final date of the class.
Students may register one of two ways: by registering online (see above link) or by registering in person in the Student Services Office, Room 158, located in Erwin's main building. Classes are filled on a space available basis.
On-site registration takes place Mondays through Thursdays between 8 am and 8 pm; Fridays from 8am to 4pm.
Payment of tuition is made at the time of registration unless otherwise noted. Cash, checks, and credit cards are accepted for tuition and books. All advertised prices for books/supplies do not include taxes and are subject to change. Books are only available for purchase on the first night of class.
Financial Aid and Veterans Benefits are only available for Full-Time/Job Preparatory Programs.
