Susana Deberadinis
When Susana Deberadinis entered the English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) class, she knew a limited amount of English and had very little confidence speaking English. While attending ESOL classes full-time, she was also working in a hospital cafeteria evenings and weekends.
She was an excellent student and completed the course at the highest level. By the time she completed the ESOL program, she was speaking, reading, and writing English very well, and had lost her fear of speaking English.
Susana then took the Test of Adult Basic Skills (TABE) to enter Erwin's Adminisrative Assistant program. She scored very high in reading and math, but needed a few points in language to qualify for the program. She entered The Learning Center, and in less than one month, Susana retested successfully.
After entering the Administrative Assistant program at Erwin, she became a work study student in The Learning Center. Susana has a bright future ahead of her!
