Cosmetology Student, Shanieka Smith, recently competed in the 2nd Annual Student Hair and Barber Explosion. She won first place in the "Fantasy Hair" portion of the competition.

Erwin Nursing Students Rock With 100% Passing Rate!

We are pleased to announce that 27 out of 27 Licensed Practical Nursing students passed the Florida Board of Nursing Exam (NCLEX) during the 3rd quarter of 2010 for a pass rate of 100%.

$240K Grant Awarded to the Dental Assisting Program!

Erwin's Dental Assisting program has received a grant of more than $240,000!

The money comes from the Florida Department of Education's SUCCEED, Florida! initiative, and will be used to upgrade equipment and renovate the classrooms and dental laboratory.

Over 3,000 patients are treated yearly in the dental clinic which is operated by the Hillsborough County Dental Research Clinic.

Special thanks to Joanne Albarelli for her vital work in securing this grant.

$440K In Grants For Electroneurodiagnostic Tech and Medical Lab Tech!

Erwin's Electroneurodiagnostic Tech (END) and Medical Lab Tech programs have each received grants of more than $220,000! These are the largest grants ever received by Erwin.

The money comes from the Florida Department of Education's SUCCEED, Florida! initiative, and will be used to upgrade expensive equipment in both programs. Erwin is the only technical school in the state to receive the awards.

Special thanks to Erwin Assistant Principal Joanne Albarelli and to Learey Technical Center Principal (and former Erwin Assistant Principal) Paula Clark for their vital work in securing these grants.

Students entering all nursing and allied health programs with a clinical study requirement are now subject to FDLE Criminal Background Checks and/or random drug screenings at their own expense.
