Teacher of Excellence Award
Bob Horan, one of Erwin's Computer Repair Instructors, was awarded the Teacher Excellence Award for 2007-08 from the Eta Field Chapter of Epsilon Pi Tau, "The International Honor Society for Technology Professions" on May 3, 2008.

$240K Grant Awarded to the Dental Assisting Program!
Erwin's Dental Assisting program has received a grant of more than $240,000!
The money comes from the Florida Department of Education's SUCCEED, Florida! initiative, and will be used to upgrade equipment and renovate the classrooms and dental laboratory.
Over 3,000 patients are treated yearly in the dental clinic which is operated by the Hillsborough County Dental Research Clinic.
Special thanks to Erwin Assistant Principal Joanne Albarelli for her vital work in securing this grant.

NEW DAYTIME COURSE - SURVEYING TECHNICIAN (CERTIFIED)
This 15-month program specializes in residential and commerical surveying.
Students are prepared to become surveyor rodmen, survey assistants, or survey party chiefs.
Entry level salaries range from $12.50-$16 per hour.

2009-2010 LPN Class Information
We are currently testing and accepting applications for the 2009-2010 LPN classes.
Applicants who meet test requirements, attend one of the mandatory information meetings and submit a completed LPN admissions packet will be eligible to enter a lottery for seats in the following terms:
August 2009 Day Class
January 2010 Day Class
March 2010 Day Class
The deadline for submitting passing TABE scores or approved college degrees is March 20, 2009.
PLEASE NOTE: The next LPN Evening Class is offered in August 2010. Applications for this class will be available after March 20, 2009.

$440K in grants for Electroneurodiagnostic Tech and Medical Lab Tech!
Erwin's Electroneurodiagnostic Tech (END) and Medical Lab Tech programs have each received grants of more than $220,000! These are the largest grants ever received by Erwin.
The money comes from the Florida Department of Education's SUCCEED, Florida! initiative, and will be used to upgrade expensive equipment in both programs. Erwin is the only technical school in the state to receive the awards.

Autodesk Premier Training Center
The Autodesk Training Center (ATC) at Erwin Technical Center is proud to announce that it has been upgraded from a Foundation to a Premier Training Center.
This will allow the AutoCAD training to expand from delivering general Level I, II and 3D classes to offering classes in the application-specific products, Architectural Desktop and Mechanical Desktop.
There are only four Premier Training Centers in Florida.
